Medical Assistant and Lab Assistant Programs are Enrolling Now!

As the United States’ healthcare industry has grown over recent years there has been an increasing demand for medical professionals, and allied healthcare workers in particular. What, or who, are allied healthcare professionals? A term used to classify up to 100 different healthcare careers, allied health workers are defined as any medical professional besides doctors and nurses. Medical Biller/Coders, Massage Therapists, Chiropractors, Lab Assistants, and Athletic Trainers all fall into this field. Allied healthcare careers are varied and each is unique in its job description, but are generally growing, in-demand fields in today’s economy. At National Career Education (NCE), we train students for allied healthcare careers, and our Medical Assistant and Lab Assistant/EKG Technician/Phlebotomist programs are enrolling now! Read on to learn more about how you can join the growing allied healthcare field, with training from NCE.

The allied healthcare field is filled with interesting, rewarding careers that can offer you the chance of a fulfilling career without an expensive four year degree from a university. At NCE in Citrus Heights, California, we train students for allied healthcare careers in as few as 9 months! If you are interested in training for a hands-on allied healthcare career, NCE offers the training programs you need to gain the skills and knowledge for employment in this career path.

Allied healthcare careers require technical knowledge and skills; at NCE, students learn to perform practical skills by doing, not just reading. Under the supervision of experienced industry instructors, NCE students gain hands-on practice in a supervised environment. All programs are designed to be completed in a relatively short amount of time, and courses are offered days, evenings, and on the weekends. With NCE, career training is both accessible and achievable.

NCE’s Medical Assistant program is achievable in a short amount of time - as few as 36 weeks! Students learn the skills to complete both clinical and administrative tasks, including measuring patients’ vital signs, administering medications and injections, recording information in medical recordkeeping systems, filing and maintaining patients’ medical records, filling out insurance forms, and arranging for hospital admission and laboratory services. Students also learn the communication and interpersonal skills needed to act as a patient coordinator between the patient and the medical staff. Upon completion of the 9 month program, graduates will be prepared to test for the National Healthcareer Association Certification from the NHA.

NCE’s Lab Assistant/EKG Technician/Phlebotomist program can similarly be completed in just 9 months! Students learn to perform important clinical procedures, including laboratory procedures for hematology, bacteriology, urinalysis, electrocardiography, and phlebotomy. Students also develop communication and interpersonal skills. Upon completion of the 9 month program, students are CPR certified and are prepared to obtain the California Phlebotomy Technician (CPT1) Certification from the State of California.

With training from NCE, an accredited member of both the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) and the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education & Training (ACCET), you can train to enter either of these allied healthcare careers in just 9 months! NCE’s programs are designed to be both flexible and focused, making career training more accessible and achievable than ever before.
